Brandon (Confirmed, email: spamthefish@yahoo.com) said:  Well, as of yesterday, I became a full time employee of bf.collaboration, Inc. I officially transitioned to part-time at SAIC, and will remain active enough that if they need my assistance with anything, they can call and I'll help them out. Otherwise, I'll be working on, and trying to grow bf.collaboration.

I'm a bit nervous, but I'm very, very excited at the same time. I truly believe that bf.collaboration is the best web based collaboration software out there, and it's priced affordably for a lot of small to medium sized companies that can't afford the typical price for web based collaboration tools.

Ok, back to work!

Brandon (Confirmed, email: spamthefish@yahoo.com) said:  Oooooohhh boy do I like my snowboard. So smooth! The snow wasn't even that great -- A little slushy -- but the new Burton Custom cut right through it like butter. Tomorrow I leave for Utah, and although the weather isn't looking all that great, it's going to be a BLAST!

Thanks to Chris and Melissa for letting us (Lauren and I) stay with them at their house at Wintergreen. It was an awesome weekend. You guys are great.

Ok, I don't have time becuase I need to do some stuff for work, finish my Apprentice application, and be packed... all before noon tomorrow. I'll try to log on a post from Utah. Either way, thanks for reading!

Brandon (Confirmed, email: spamthefish@yahoo.com) said:  What's up everyone!? Since I last posted, Wes Clark dropped out, my Wintergreen snowboarding trip got moved to next weekend, my snowboard actually DID arrive on time last Friday, and I finished the Active Server Object tutorial.

Going into this three day weekend, I've got a lot of work to do. I want to finish the free CD that will come with the ASO tutorial, and I want to look for marketing partners for it.

Any suggestions?

Brandon (Confirmed, email: spamthefish@yahoo.com) said:  Went snowboarding Wednesday evening (2/4) with Greg up at Whitetail. It was very good east coast snow because they had received about 8 inches of natural snow over the previous day and a half. Hit a few jumps, but I really haven't gotten back into the feel for jumps yet. It's kind of frustrating.

Last night I got to see my old friend Christina (Thal, now Curran) from Ft. Lauderdale. She was part of our LoveStone groupie days. It was a fun night as Lauren joined me, Michele, and of course Christina out for some dinner at Odeon Cafe (just north of Dupont Circle). If you're ever looking for a good italian restaurant with some class but won't leave you with buyer's remorse, Odeon Cafe is a good place.

Tonight, I'm heading down to Wintergreen resort for a weekend of snowboarding with Lauren, Melissa, and Chris. I don't think my new board is going to show up today, but that would be pretty nice if it did.

We've got some crap for weather here right now -- Lots of rain, and occationally some of it drops as sleet. Ok, I'm off. Later.

Brandon (Confirmed, email: spamthefish@yahoo.com) said:  Back from Vegas, and money in my pocket! A special thanks to all you chumps that dropped your money off at the 3-6 hold'em table where I was playing at the Mirage. I only came back with about $80, but hey, it was my FIRST TIME at a hold'em table at a casino! I was a little nervous at first, but then it all calmed down. Hopefully I'll see you suckers in Atlantic City in a month.

As for the apprentice... Man, was I wrong about the guys. They got their butts kicked AGAIN! In fairness, they were basically asked to market and promote a restaraunt with half the number of people that the women had. But still, the fact that the bar is big bucks didn't even strike them until about 30 minutes before last call. What a bunch of idiot. I even more so now think the women are smarter than the men. I'm sure Sam would have known to concentrate on the bar ... {snicker, snicker} ... pshyeahright!!!

Thanks for reading!

Brandon (Confirmed, email: spamthefish@yahoo.com) said:  Tonight is episode #4 of "The Apprentice." My prediction is that the men finally win one, now that Trump has dumped Sam. Don't get me wrong, watching the show, I still get the impression that the men are way outmatched by the women. Even if the women dropped the whole using "sex sells" concept, they would beat the men more times than not. I don't know if the men are just really nervous, or if they really are as stupid as their strategies have been.

The big question: Even though Sam had to go to keep the respect of the TV show, how entertaining will it be without him?

A possible answer: I guess there's always Omarosa... The almost equally annoying (relative to Sam) woman who -- like Sam -- is short on logic, analysis, and thinking skills, but plenty willing to get in the middle and make waves.

I have my VCR set. I'll be on a plane headed for Las Veeeegaaaaaaas!!!! Oh yeah! As always, thanks for stopping by and reading the V-Report.

Brandon (Confirmed, email: spamthefish@yahoo.com) said:  Oooh yeah! Only three days until I leave for Las Vegas. This is going to be the best Vegas super bowl weekend yet. I'm going to start with $500 at the cheap Texas Hold'em table, and see how it goes. If it goes well, maybe I'll go up a table. If it doesn't go well, the worst case scenario is that I should be able to stretch my money out long enough that it'll be fun. Please email any casino texas hold'em advice to spamthefish@yahoo.com. Thanks.

I've only had three days of snowboarding this season. Gotta get out there on those slopes!

Thanks for reading. I'll post more soon. Send me that poker advice!

Brandon (Confirmed, email: spamthefish@yahoo.com) said:  Aloha! Day four of my first ever vacation to Hawaii. I'm now at the Hilton Waikiki -- Wireless internet access out by the pool. This place is awesome! I've never seen waves this big. Some waves probably approached 15 feet! Here is a picture of me running away from one of the smaller ones in the surf of Waimea Beach Park on the North Shore of O'ahu (about two miles from one of the world famous stops of the surfing tripple crown, Banzai Pipeline).

Yesterday we went to Hanauma Bay... Rented snorkle gear, and it was like swimming in a tropical fish tank. That's the only way it can be described. Took lots of underwater pictures of the fish and coral, but I'll have to wait until that film gets developed to post pics. Another unbelievable place! I really can't describe it with words. Crystal clear blue water; Soft, light sand; lava rock on the sides; green grass and tropical plants behind the beach; Beautiful. The sun beat down like we were sitting six inches below a broiler... It was great.

Today I'm sitting by the pool doing "work" with Lauren. She's slacking today and not going to her meetings (something about not having the password to get in, or something). :) Going to look into sufing lessons, and hopefully do that tomorrow. This place (Hawaii) is nice. Don't believe all the "overpriced" rumors you hear about it. All things considered, it is a better "value" than a vacation to the Washington DC area.

Ok, i don't like to say this much in a single V-Report post, so I'm signing off. I'll try to post more tomorrow.

(Montgomery's Annual Football Invitation of Alumni) classic 2003 is now in the books with our team, the Untouchables, evening up the series at 3-3 with a 20-14 victory over the Goodfellas. It was a hard fought game that resulted in only two players needing to leave the game because of injury. Statistics and the game itself will soon be on my MAFIA classic site (http://www.brandonfisher.com/fish/mafia or http://www.mafiaclassic.com) and Gallahad's site (http://www.pennathletes.com). I'm a little bit sore right now. What I could really use is a nice vacation to Hawaii.

On a side note, I'll be leaving this Thursday morning for a week of mooching (free hotel, free food, etc.) off Lauren in Hawaii. Nice!!! More to come...

Brandon (Confirmed, email: spamthefish@yahoo.com) said:  I'm sorry to say, there's been no big news lately. Last night I finished chapter 8 of the ASO tutorial I'm writing with Lauren. Is that big news? I only have half a chapter to go, and then some cleanup. Hope to be sending it to the printer within the next few weeks.

Had another winning night at the poker table on Monday night. Rob brought up the point that when you get to a certain level, it's no longer considered "gambling." I think that I should no longer consider our weekly poker nights as "gambling" for me. I think I'm ready for Vegas. I think they'll have a seat for me at the Texas Hold'em table at the MGM.

Have yet to sell a full bf.collaboration, but finally selling some bf.forums express (http://www.bfcollaboration.com/forums). At the time of this writing, over one thousand of the free version have been downloaded from download.com (http://download.com.com/3000-2281-10219801.html?tag=lst-0-1).

Ok, I'm boring you. Come back soon. I promise to have more exciting news.

There is some blood, so if you have a weak stomach, be prepared. Also, you can't take the movie too seriously. But if you just enjoy the ride, it's an entertaining production of great music, great action, and great cinematography.

Brandon (Confirmed, email: spamthefish@yahoo.com) said:  Well, it's been quite a while since I've reported here. My site was down for a couple days because the hosting provider migrated the site to a new server... Then the site was down for another week or so because Network Solutions didn't update their DNS server IP addresses (which also moved). Anyway, I'm back online now.

During this outtage, I was in South Beach Miami, and Key West. What great places. I need to get out of this terrible terrible town (and suburbs) known as Washington DC. Traffic is no longer only bad during rush hours... It's bad nearly 24 hours a day now. If you need to get somewhere, you have to drive at 4am. If traffic lights are holding you up, it's the massive amount of drivers that either don't know where they're going, or they don't care to get where they're going.

Anyway, back to nice thoughts of Miami and Key West; I was there with my little Champion, Lauren. We checked out the Delano Hotel and the Sky Lounge... The weather was great, the drinks were good, the 30 and 40-something business travelers were fun to watch as they made the most of their uninhibited Thursday night in South Beach. Key West was beautiful for other reasons. The water was that crystal clear turquois, and the Key West vegitation and gardens are beautiful. We rented a scooter for a couple of days and checked out some more parts of the island... That was one of my favorite parts of the trip.

Ok, I'm going to get back to work -- Much to do. Oh! I almost forgot! Props to my Champ for running her first marathon yesterday. She ran the Marine Corps marathon in barely over 5:00. She didn't quite beat my time, but hey, i'm a world class athlete, so that is nothing of which to be ashamed. She did outstanding considering that she hurt her knee on or around mile 8 -- and toughed it out for 18 miles. I'm VERY proud of her.

Brandon (Confirmed, email: spamthefish@yahoo.com) said:  Ok, as much as I hate to defend Rush Limbaugh, I am sick and tired of the black and white COWARDS of this country taking the easy way out and jumping all over Rush because he mixed a critisizm with a reference to African Americans ("blacks"). If you're critisizing Rush for being racist, or saying something racist, I have to ask you, have you even actually listened to, or read, what Rush said!?!? By calling out Rush as a racist, or by calling out what he said as racist, you're just making yourself look stupid. And apparently, there are A LOT of you stupid people out there.

Here is his statement: "I think what we've had here is a little social concern in the NFL. The media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well. There is a little hope invested in McNabb, and he got a lot of credit for the performance of this team that he didn't deserve. The defense carried this team."

If you can read, you now know that Rush was calling the MEDIA racist! Rush is challenging any listener (mainly the other studio hosts) to dispute his statement. And did any of them have an answer? Nope.

Those of you who were critical of Rush for his statement are simply copping out, and are a part of the REAL problem. The REAL problem in this country is that white people can not put ANY critisism in the same sentence or context that which they mention race -- Even if the critisizm is not directly tied to the race. Does this statement make ME a racist? No, not even close. But I'll bet if I would have made this statement on ESPN, or CNN, or NBC, it would have been labeled as racist, and attacked, and I would have been crushed just like Rush. THAT is a problem.

If you can read, or if you heard the statement and can comprehend English, you'll only be offended if you're a part of the racist media that Rush was referring to, and you're welcome to dispute Rush's claims (like Peter King did: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2003/writers/peter_king/09/30/mcnabb_limbaugh/index.html).

If you're not a part of the racist media, and you're offended by Rush's statement, PLEASE do us ALL a favor and go take an English comprehension class.

If you're simply offended that Rush included a critisizm with a referrence to race in the same sentence or context, quit crying, face it that YOU are a part of the racial problems in this country, and change. Or, just leave, because those of us that strive to make this country stronger don't need your naivety or the damage you cause by having your naivety. Issues that weaken this country, race-related or not, must be analyzed and solved head on, with candor and openness.

Disagree? Tell me where I'm wrong.

Brandon (Confirmed, email: spamthefish@yahoo.com) said:  What a PERFECT day here today! The air temp was about 63 on the way to work today, and there's not a cloud in the sky! Perfect morning to put the sun roof back, and turn up the music. I'm going town to Gravely point tonight to throw the football around. The sooner I can get out of this place and into this great weather, the better for my life and well-being.

Oh, here's something I'm sure you care about... Because the hurricane cause my electricity to be off for a few days, I cleaned out my refrigerator last night of things that had gone bad. The good news is, not much went bad in my refrigerator, that wasn't ALREADY bad. Yep, this bachelor now has a clean fridge. Freezer is next.

Ok, a quick soapbox stand... To you people living in France: WHAT WERE YOU THINKING WHEN YOU ELECTED JACQUES CHIRAC (or however you spell the idiot's name)??? First of all, this is a guy that is willing to put a killer's (Saddam's) money in front of the lives of innocent people (Iraqi's) by pushing SO HARD against liberating the Iraqi people from Hitler -- um, I mean, Saddam... And now, he's still criticizing the U.S, Great Britain, and the other countries that risked their own to help free these innocent people, by saying they undermined the credibility of the UN? Uhhhh WHA!?! The *credibility* of the UN? WHAT credibility of the UN? If they, as an organization, are not willing to step in and stop what was going on in Iraq, the "credibility" of the UN was gone a long time ago. Would you French people PLEASE vote this guy out of office? Have a "recall" or something. I would like to drink Grey Goose Vodka and eat Brie cheese, but you're making it difficult.

Ok, back to happy thoughts... Wes Clark should, and I think will, be the U.S. President in 2004. It's a beautiful day.

Brandon (Confirmed, email: spamthefish@yahoo.com) said:  Well, the end of the world has begun here in the Washington DC area.... That's right, hurricane Isabel, and her 50MPH winds are just around the corner. It's getting cool, and the wind speed is up to about 5.

Went to the grocery store last night to stock up on enough beer to make it through friday, and it was comical! The isle or bottled water... wiped CLEAN!!! The bread isle.... NOTHING! Milk... GONE! Hahahaha... What is it about bread and milk??? The only time anyone drinks milk anymore is when there's a big snowstorm, or a hurricane. And the water? The water was flowing just fine today... Why wouldn't everyone just fill up their empty milk jugs with tap water today, instead of buying water? Ohhhh that's right, because they don't drink milk any other time!!!! Hahahaha.... people are so gullible. The "weatherman" says stock up on bread, milk and water, and without thinking, that's what everyone does.

Ok, I have a lot of work to do today. Unlike the federal government, I don't have the luxery of taxpayer's paying my salary even when I don't work. It's not even supposed to start really raining here until late afternoon or early evening.... But yet the federal government took the day off WITH pay, and metro is going to stop running at 11am (that's in 15 minutes).

The nice thing about seeing people making decisions like these, is it makes me feel pretty smart, and good about myslef. It's good for the ego.

I'm checking out.... Have a good day.

Looks like the outter banks (NC) are going to get hit with 100+ MPH winds later this afternoon/evening, and we're supposed to get hard winds and rain late tomorrow. There's talk that this may be a legit excuse to not go in to work on Friday. Nice!

Anyway, had a very social weekend this past weekend. Checked out "Harry's Tap Room" in Clarendon (Arlington, VA). The "Harry" is the same "Harry" from "Sam and Harry's" steakhouse. The food was good, as was the atmosphere. My only complaint is that they have some prices listed lower on the menu on their website than they really are (Steak salad, listed as $11.95 on their site, $13.95 at the restaurant). That was kind of annoying. Saturday night, myself, Rob, Heather, and a very drunk Lauren went to Club Glow. It was a very fun night.

Even though we didn't get back until 4:30am (including the IHOP stop), I was at the sports bar (Glory Days, Fairfax, VA) by noon to get a good seat at the bar to watch the Steelers and Chiefs game. Met some fellow Steelers fans, and we went through the loss together.

Poker night has been moved to Thursday this week so that my roomate can buy a house. I'll take this opportunity to work on the Active Server Object (ASO) tutorial tonight. Fun fun! Ok, it's a shower, and off to work..... Later......

Brandon (Confirmed, email: spamthefish@yahoo.com) said:  Well, unfortunately, some people seem to be having problems accessing the new BrandonFisher.com. It's really been a frustrating problem because some people can access the site just fine, and some people get "Page not found" errors. Two people that are having problems can access the site from one computer, but not another. UGH! I've been working on these problems over the past several days, and it's really getting frustrating.

It's a PICTURE PERFECT day here in DC this September 11. I want to make sure I take ample time today to think about what happened to all the defenseless citizens -- people that have not shown any agression towards anyone else -- in New York City, Pittsburgh, and Washington DC two years ago today.

Also, shout out to my great friend, Michele, as it is her birthday today. Happy Birthday, Michele! I got her a "sweedish massage" from the Red Door Salon, I just know she's going to love it.

Was going to go to this new "club" called "Air" tomorrow -- It's outside, down on PA Avenue -- But it looks as if the weather's not going to cooperate with any outdoor venues. Plus, I was reading some reviews on the Washington Post, and there were a lot of complaints about the staff and the music. It sounds like the staff is pretty rude, and they play not only hip hop (wich sucks anyway), but apparently it is BAD, REPEATING hip hop... Hmm... Why do nice places like this play that crap? So, anyway, not sure what's in store for the weekend. If you live in DC, email me ideas at spamthefish@yahoo.com ... Would love to hear them. Thanks!

Brandon (Confirmed, email: spamthefish@yahoo.com) said:  It's late and I've got to get to bed. I'm happy because my team, the Pittsburgh Steelers, CRUSHED the Baltimore Ravens today. Had a fun weekend of partying with friends. Checked out Cafe Citron (Connecticut Ave, DC) for the first time Friday night, and I have to say... Pretty Cool. Good mix of music, dancing on the tables, and the cute bartender chick hooked me up when I got the tab. I'll be back there soon. Then went down to Georgetown and did some shopping for the fall wardrobe. Got some good stuff.

Oh, so today it was too nice to sit inside and watch TV. So, i followed Lauren's idea/advice and set up a TV in my back yard. Lit the grill, cooked some burgers, and watched the games from the comfort of the table on my back deck.

Ok, I've got to get up in six hours for work, and I'm "babling".... See you later.

Brandon (Confirmed, email: spamthefish@yahoo.com) said:  Well, looks like it's finally the weekend. Why did a four day week seem to take so long to get here? Maybe because I'm just back from a long weekend in South Beach Miami? The weather is BEAUTIFUL here in DC... Warm, sunny, clear during the day, and cool at night. I think I'll hit the city tonight for some drinks at a TBD location. I love 18th Street Lounge, and they have a great outdoors venue, but I won't be hanging there tonight as my friends would like to try a new (new to us) place. Maybe the Washington Hotel?

Anyway, how do you like the new look and feel of the site? It's supposed to be "cleaner" and more organized. Also, I've integrated a customized version of bf.forums (from bf.collaboration) as the new message boards engine... So hopefully the message boards will load a little faster now.

Ok, I'm off to the gym. Thanks for stopping by.
Later!
