My Resume
download
Here is my resume, last updated on
06/1/2001. Click here
for a printable version of my resume.
Please Read (all): I
am happy to report that I have completed the MBA program as of
May of this year (2001). As of now, I am tentatively in search
of a position that allows me to exercise my financial and general
management skills -- And perhaps my technical skills as well.
The ideal position is a Product Manager role in a firm that is
comfortable using Information Technology to maximize resources, and
streamline operations. Other positions that interest me are
various Corporate Finance positions and Project Manager positions.
If you are a firm with a small (less than $1M) C, C++, or ASP
software project, that needs to be completed fast (in an in-and-out,
"swat-team approach"), and in a manner that is solid and
maintainable (not a hack), feel free to give me a call, or send a
request for proposal (RFP) to the address below. Upon inquiry,
I am willing to sit down and discuss my approach to the Software
Engineering process that separates me from virtually every other
software engineer.
Please Read (placement
agencies): Please do
not call me about positions that involve writing software, unless
they are well defined contract positions. I will not accept a
full-time position that involves writing code but I am willing to
execute defined software development projects on a contract basis
(RFP preferred). |

Professional
Experience: |
November
8, 1999 to present: Ernst
& Young LLP; Washington DC
Project Manager, Tax Technology Services |
|
Responsible
for the design and implementation of a Tax
Technology Services (TTS) Intranet website.
The TTS website is a multi-faceted process
improvement tool to streamline cross-functional
operations centered around the TTS group.
Among other things, tax professionals, tax
solutions personnel, tax technology personnel, and
technology deployment personnel meet and organize
the development and rollout of tax solutions.
In fiscal year 2000, Tax Solutions
accounted for over 39% of all tax consulting net
revenues at Ernst & Young.
Built
value proposition cases for technology related
projects at Ernst & Young.
This included the forecasting of cash
outlays and revenue streams, and ultimately a Net
Present Value (NPV) analysis, and related
sensitivity analyses, for each project.
Building, and presenting accurate value
proposition cases requires interaction with Ernst
& Young professionals in many areas, and at
all levels, and is key to ensuring the proper
selection of only true value-added projects at
Ernst & Young.
Successfully
managed the development (planning, organizing,
scheduling, and forecasting) efforts of the
Previously Asked Questions (PAQ) database, a
component of Ernst & Young’s Online Tax
Advisor (www.eyonline.com). The PAQ database housed every tax question, along with it’s
corresponding answer, received via the Online Tax
Advisor. These
questions were indexed and made searchable by
Ernst & Young’s Tax professionals for future
use. Technologies
involved include SQL Server 7, SilkNet, XML, HTML,
Active Server Pages, and JavaScript. |

June 3, 1996 to November 2, 1999: AlliedSignal
Technical Services Corp. (ATSC); Columbia, MD
Project Manager (Web), Software Engineer (C/C++) |
|
Led
the efforts associated with developing a secure
web site to be used for project management and
communications between AlliedSignal and their
customers. The
site was designed to reduce the overhead costs
associated with communication and document
management between various organizations located
in Columbia Maryland, and Boston Massachusetts.
Features of the site include categorized
document posting and retrieval and categorized
message boards.
Technologies involved included MS Access,
HTML, Active Server Pages, JavaScript, and
SAFileUp.

Served
as the primary author of the “Software
Development Procedures” section of a successful
qualification package submitted to the
Massachusetts Highway Department (MHD).
The qualification package led to ATSC being
one of only two firms qualified by MHD to submit a
proposal for their $120M Advanced Traffic
Management System (ATMS) in downtown Boston.

Used Object Oriented Design and Programming techniques to
write several protocol level drivers (using TCP/IP) that communicate
with Traffic Data Detectors. Wrote the driver level communication scheme
between the AlliedSignal central software and a third party traffic
simulation model. Used OOD and OOP to design and implement the traffic
data detection server in a distributed, Client/Server ATMS.
Developed, or contributed to, the operating system
dependent libraries the device drivers, along with
the rest of the system, relies on. Libraries
developed cover Windows 95/98/NT, Posix/OpenVMS,
and IBM AIX (RISC 6000). My contributions are in
the area of system timers, shared memory, TCP/IP
sockets, and queue communication.
Designed and built the new EasyStreet for Windows NT
Graphical User Interface (GUI). The GUI was written using Borlands
C++ Builder and uses the Visual Component Library (VCL). |
